Mission Statement
The AMERICAN TAE
KWON DO SYSTEMS is an inter-denominational group of Christian Martial
Artists seeking to lift up the name of Jesus Christ to others, including
the unchurched, and promoting Christian fellowship through Martial Arts
training. We believe in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others
and we stand firm in the essentials of Biblical faith by allowing our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to direct our paths.
Statement of Faith
We believe these essentials
of faith in Christ to be true:
1) The absolute authority
of the Bible as the Word of God. 2Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21
2) The Deity of Christ as God’s only Son, the only Savior. Philippians
2:5-8
3) Salvation by grace alone, apart from works. Ephesians 2:8
4) The depravity of man and his need for salvation. Romans 3:10
5) The reality of Heaven and Hell. John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:15-17
Revelation 20:10&15
6) An imminent judgment of all men. 2 Corinthians 5:10
7) We are to love one another, as Christ loves us. John 13:34
8) Forgiveness and love are a commandment. Matthew 6:14-15; John 13:34
Tenets of Christian Tae Kwon Do
1) FAITH: Faith in
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Faith in the Holy Trinity of Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit. Faith in God’s Grace as a gift; believe that salvation
is only through accepting the Lord into your heart and asking His forgiveness.
2) COURTESY: Being
kind and polite in all dealings, showing RESPECT to parents, elders, teachers,
juniors, and friends. This demonstrates that you care and love them.
3) INTEGRITY: Showing
honesty and forthrightness in all doings, having a reliable and honorable
character.
4) PERSEVERANCE: Never
giving up; especially on worthy causes and goals. Rely on God in difficult
situations and keep up the good fight.
5) SELF-CONTROL: Being
in control of your emotions and actions; accepting total responsibility
of your own actions. Choosing the right and correct action/response in
difficult (and other) situations.
6) INDOMITABLE SPIRIT:
If the Holy Spirit is in you, who can defeat you, having internal strength
that comes from God.
7) MODESTY: All abilities
and possessions come from God and are for His service. Always try your
hardest and do not waste the gifts God has given you. When you succeed
give credit where credit is due: to Jesus Christ. Do nothing out of self-ambition
or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than you.
