Chicken Tamale Pie

1 pkg (8-12 oz) corn muffin mix
1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 t chili powder1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (4 oz) chopped green chilies
1/2 c chopped green onions
1 c whole kernel corn
1 1/2 c shredded cooked chicken or turkey or pork

Preheat oven to 350 F. In bowl, combine muffin mix and cheese. Prepare according to pkg directions, set aside.In saucepan, stir remaining ingredient until blended. Heat through. Spoon muffin mix into greased 2 qt. casserole. Spoon hot soup mix over muffin mix to within 1/2 inch of edge. Bake 25 minutes or until cornbread is golden. Garnish with additional l cheese, green onions, and tomatoes if desired. Makes 6 servings
