Hickorynut Cake - courtesy of Nola Miles Rogers

Take 1 cups of white sugar, 1 cup light brown sugar, 1 cup of butter, 1 cup of rich sweet milk, whites of 4 eggs, 3 1/2 cups of flour, 1 package of butterscotch pudding ,2 teaspoonfuls of baking powder and 4 cups of chopped nut meats. Flavor with vanilla. Bake in 2 layers then split the layers and ice making 4 layers. Add hickorynuts between each layer and garnish the top of the cake with hickory nuts. Bake at 350 until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in center appx. 30 min. Optional, Use white or carmel frosting.Can use carmel between layers and white on the top of the cake or visa versa. Nuts for the top of the cake should be lightly toasted under broiler.

This makes a very rich tasty and heavy cake.
